Seat Selection

Arena has two different modes for mixing data with the maps: reviews and booking. To show the availability of tickets to provide a function for visually booking seats we display the map and render available seats depending on the configuration and the ticket types and price bands.

Available seats#

Available seats are shown on the map, coloured by the ticket type of the individual seat. Seating can also be shown as grouped sections which expand once selected. Standing sections don’t display individual seats but allow the customer to pick a quantity of tickets in that area.

Seat information (tooltip)#

More information on the seat is provided when hovering. This shows an expanded tooltip like the one in the above image. The ticket price is shown along with the description of the seat. If the seat has a restricted view, then a message will be shown with the specific message.
Depending on the customisation options provided, a breakdown of the fees may also be shown.

Legend#

The legend provides the available ticket types and their corresponding colours. Beside each legend item is the price of the ticket type. Below each item there is a space for any offer messages associated with this ticket type. There are a lot of customisation options available for modifying this legend, further information on this is provided in our Customisation Options section.

Controls#

In the upper right of the map there are controls which allow people to navigate the zoom levels on the map. By default this is shown on all maps, however this can be configured to be hidden so may not always show. There are also zoom and pan controls through mouse and/or touch events so controls are usually hidden when there are spacing concerns (i.e. on mobile devices).

Selling tickets with no selectable seats#

Tickets which are in the availability that have no matching seat on the map are shown in a section to the side of the rendered map to allow these to be selected by customers. Examples of where this might occur are for VIP suites, Hospitality areas or Backstage passes where the customer will see the performance but not from an area which can be easily rendered on the Arena map.
